I wasn't putting words in your mouth Corrupt[ed]. The way you wrote your answer gave me the impression that you were saying the cause of rape was due to clothing. :|

Anywayz, I can see that most of you are either directly or indirectly putting the primary blame on the parents. What BBQ said brings another factor to the debate. Should parents be able to physically abuse their kids?

There have been scientists and psychologists who believe hitting a child does more harm than good. Some feel that it has the potential to make a child prone to violence. I don't necessarily agree with that, but what do you think will happen if they illegalized it in the United States?

I NEVER used the word "abuse", there is a big diffrence between what I said which was "a light smack" and "physical abuse", I don't agree with physical abuse so please don't try to bend my words in that manner.

I used the term physical abuse because that is what the psychologists refer it as. I don't consider smacking a kid on the hand abuse at all. My intention was not to interpret what you said into something negative. I apologize if it seemed that way.

Anywayz, should parents be able to physical punishment as a way to discipline their children? Would this improve the problem with kids today?

Yes it would, as would other means such as taking away somthing they like each time they do somthing wrong. But that's probably also frowned upon by psychologists. Just talking to a child won't teach them anything, they won't understand and shouting won't either, I find shouting to be more intimidating than just a light smack :/

I dun see how environmental works, but I voted all the others, there could be a number of reasons, depending on who the child is, etc.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

My mom never hits, she screams. Gets the job done. Indeed Hotprchichi, don't bend peoples words, even if you are quoting another source.
